As 2011 is coming to a close, we are looking forward to the holidays but also have an eye on the future. The upcoming year will bring some big changes from us, as we are adding features to our network to make mobile advertising simpler and more effective. Although we can’t share all the details now, we can say that Sponsormob will be making advertising on the mobile web more accessible for companies wanting to reach a broader audience (more info on this to come in January 2012 …).

In addition to making plans for 2012, we have also been expanding our company. We are actually still hiring, looking for candidates to join our Berlin office. We even made a short video about it. Details on our open positions can be found on our jobs pages (English and German). If you are looking for a job in mobile advertising, please check us out. And don’t forget to keep an eye on this space for more from us in January!

Last week the Sponsormob team exhibited at Apps World Europe in London. Apps World is a conference and exhibition for app developers, marketers, and others in the online and mobile advertising industry. The event was larger than last year’s and a very good one for us, as we were able to connect with developers and other networks and exchanges. The Apps World team this year was three girls, which means that a lot of fun was had.

At the same time last week, Heiko Kasper was at the Mobile Business Conference here in Germany, and Joe Niederberger participated in AppNation in San Francisco. That was our last big event push for 2011, so we are looking forward to a break during Christmas and then getting out there again in 2012.

Affiliate Summit is one of the best events out there for affiliate marketing professionals, and we are looking forward to taking part in it again next year. Affiliate Summit West 2012 will be held in Las Vegas at Caesar’s Palace. The event has grown each year, and next year is sure to be another great year, with thousands of visitors and numerous companies exhibiting.

Although we will not be exhibiting at this year’s event as we have in the past, both of our directors (Peter Glaeser and Jet Patel) will be on hand to meet with anyone interested in working with Sponsormob. There is still time to set up a meeting with Jet and/or Peter, so please send me an email if you would like to meet them at Affiliate Summit.

Our Business Development Manager for North America, Joe Niederberger, will be at the App Nation III conference taking place next week in San Francisco, California. App Nation events are run to connect marketers with app developers. The event combines speakers, an exhibition, a developers’ workshop and networking parties (which we hear are excellent!).

App Nation takes place November 30 – December 1 at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. You can register for the event here, and if you would like to meet up with Joe Niederberger during the event, please email him.

We have just finished up several busy but very fun days in New York City for ad:tech New York and we are on the road again here in Germany. Today our Director of Business Development, Heiko Kasper, is in Düsseldorf to attend the Mobile National Summit. The event is put on by Mobile Monday Germany and is a gathering of mobile marketing professionals and app developers here in Germany. This year’s event is also celebrating 5 years of Mobile Monday in Germany, so a big congratulations from us at Sponsormob for five years of success!

We are continuing with our event exhibiting this month, with Ad:tech in New York November 8-10, and Apps World London the end of the month. Apps World Europe was a new event for us last year, and we really enjoyed it, so we are looking forward to exhibiting again this year. The event is geared towards developers and marketers in Europe. It takes place at Olympia, in London, November 29-30. We will be at stand 55a.

We are continuing to stay very busy this fall with several online and marketing events, both familiar and new. Next week our Joe Niederberger, US Business Development Manager, will be in New York for Apps World New York.

The event takes place November 1-2 at the Javits Covention Center, the same place where we will be exhibiting one week later for ad:tech New York. Apps World is an event series for app develepors and marketers with an exhibition, networking, various conference tracks and a developer’s workshop. Over 2500 attendees are expected to be at Apps World this year, with over 100 speakers.

We were at Apps World London in 2010 and found the event to be very worthwhile, so we are interested to see what the North American event is like. If you will be attending Apps World and would like to meet up with Joe Niederberger, please contact us and we will get you in touch with him.

Our COO and Co-Founder, Jet Patel, is headed to Sofia, Bulgaria this week for the Webit Congress. Over 5,000 visitors from 45 countries are expected to attend the event, which includes seven conference tracks, an exhibition, and networking parties (of course!). The event takes place at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia October 26 & 27. Jet will be attending the exhibition both days and will be meeting with partners. Since this is another new event for us, we are excited to get to check it out and learn more about what is happening in the online marketing industry in Central and Eastern Europe.

Next week Sponsormob will be exhibiting at Be Connected, an event for innovative communication held in Frankfurt, Germany. The event is held in conjunction with Voice + IP and the DigitalTouch conference. All three events focus on innovation, customer relationship management, and interaction in digital marketing and communication. The events are all taking place at Messe Frankfurt, and we are looking forward to being a part of it. Mobile is becoming a major channel for companies to interact with their customers, so we are excited to be there.

Our Director of Business Development, Heiko Kasper, will be at the event, as well as Account Manager Nathalie Depix. This past week we were a part of OMCap, a conference and networking event for online marketers that took place here in Berlin. We were also sponsors of the event and are pleased to have been a part of it, as it was a great event. Three of us from Sponsormob attended the day-long conferece, and a couple others joined us later in the evening for the event’s networking party.

OMCap was very well-organized and lovely. The location – Kosmos, formerly a famous cinema, was a fantastic location. The conference sessions were interesting. but I would also say that a couple of them were on the rather technical side. I also have to say that the comfortable, cushioned movie-theater seating also made it a bit difficult to concentrate, as they were perhaps too comfortable!

Networking was a main focus of the event, which we really enjoyed. There were lunch and dinner buffets, as well as coffee and cake in the afternoon, and even popcorn in between, so there was more than enough time to stop and mingle and no one went hungry. There was also a party after the dinner, with an open bar and a dj, so the event was one of the most fun we have been to recently. I would say the only problem with the event was not being able to get anyone to join us on the dance floor … Next year we will have to try harder!
