TOA BerlinAugust 17th, 2012 by Talya
Next week Berlin will be hosting Tech Open Air Berlin, a gathering of startups, techies, entrepreneurs, and other creatives to connect, learn, and inspire. The founders call TOA Berlin a ‘pinch of SXSW, a pint (or more) of Berlin,’ and it is an event with the goal of inspiring community and creativity, with an emphasis on the tech scene.
The main event will be held at Kater Holzig, a very Berlin – meaning funky and a little crazy – club and event venue located in the central part of the city. Over thirty speakers will be at the two-day event, discussing everything from raising capital to marketing and advertising and more. In addition to the main event, there are also several different satellite events being held both days throughout the city, including a rooftop breakfast at Amano Hotel, a poker competition, and a startup workshop with the Berlin Startup Academy.
We are looking forward to being a part of this – and as it is ‘open air,’ we’re hoping that this week’s summer weather decides to stay on into next week as well! If you are planning to attend TOA Berlin, contact us
Date: August 23-24, 2012
Location: Kater Holzig, Michaelkirch Str. 23, Berlin

Mobilisten-Talk, BerlinApril 25th, 2012 by Talya
We tend to spend much of our event time outside of Berlin, visiting cities like London, Frankfurt, and Las Vegas for conferences and networking events. Every now and again we get to stay here in our ‘hometown’ of Berlin to attend a local event for the online and mobile industry. Next week, once such event – the second Mobilisten-Talk – takes place at Base Camp here in Berlin, and we will be there to network and learn more about the latest happenings in the mobile scene.
Three leaders in the online/mobile industry in Germany will be at the event – Ulrich Coehnen from E-plus, Tim Hilpert from Ebay, and Arash Houshmand, one of the founders of Contigua GmbH. They will be discussing how smartphones connect online and offline commerce with Florian Treiss, founder of the German mobile news website MobileBranche.de. We are definitely curious to find out their thoughts on how online and offline business are linked by smartphones – couponing and location-based advertising would be two good possibilities – we’ll be sure to come back to this after the event and share what we find out.
In the meantime, if you are in Berlin and would like to attend the event (it’s free!), you can register over at the event on Facebook.
Online Marketing Capital BerlinOctober 15th, 2011 by Talya
This past week we were a part of OMCap, a conference and networking event for online marketers that took place here in Berlin. We were also sponsors of the event and are pleased to have been a part of it, as it was a great event. Three of us from Sponsormob attended the day-long conferece, and a couple others joined us later in the evening for the event’s networking party.
OMCap was very well-organized and lovely. The location – Kosmos, formerly a famous cinema, was a fantastic location. The conference sessions were interesting. but I would also say that a couple of them were on the rather technical side. I also have to say that the comfortable, cushioned movie-theater seating also made it a bit difficult to concentrate, as they were perhaps too comfortable!
Networking was a main focus of the event, which we really enjoyed. There were lunch and dinner buffets, as well as coffee and cake in the afternoon, and even popcorn in between, so there was more than enough time to stop and mingle and no one went hungry. There was also a party after the dinner, with an open bar and a dj, so the event was one of the most fun we have been to recently. I would say the only problem with the event was not being able to get anyone to join us on the dance floor … Next year we will have to try harder!
Also – pictures of the event can be see on our Facebook page and on Flickr.

We are very happy to announce that Sponsormob are official sponsors of next week’s Online Marketing Capital event taking place here in Berlin. OMCap is an online marketing conference and networking event for – you guessed it! – those in online marketing. The event is then wrapped up in the evening with networking drinks as well as dinner and networking party.
Speaking topics at OMCap cover everything from SEO to affiliate marketing, analytics and more. We’re excited to be a part of it, and three of us will be attending the event: Heiko Kasper, our new Director of Business Development, Nathalie Depix, Account Manager, and myself (Talya – Public Relations Manager). We will be at the conference and the networking party afterward, and will be sure to let you know how it goes.
If you are interested in attending Online Marketing Capital, you can register on their website. The event takes place October 13, 2011, at Kosmos in the Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin. Hoping to see you there!
New Affiliate Summit meetup in BerlinMay 24th, 2011 by Talya
We are happy to share the news that a new Affiliate Summit Meetup group has been formed in Berlin. As you can see from the list of Affiliate Summit Meetups, this is the first one taking place outside of the US and Canada, so we are very excited about this. And since Berlin happens to be a hot spot for startups, it is great to see an affiliate networking event starting here for those in our industry.
Also – we at Sponsormob are proud to be sponsoring the first official meetup, which will take place on Tuesday, May 31, at Lauschgift cocktail bar here in Berlin Mitte. We hope you will come join us for drinks and networking if you are in Berlin!
Event details can be found on the Berlin Affiliate Summit Meetup’s Facebook page.
