Our most recent events: ad:tech London, dmexco, and MobileMonday Developer SummitSeptember 28th, 2011 by Talya
As we’ve mentioned before, this year’s super-busy event season has officially begun, and we are right in the middle of it. Last week, Sponsormob was in two places at once: Dmexco, in Köln, and ad:tech London. We did not exhibit at Dmexco as we did in 2010, but we visited the event and had meetings there with several partners. The event was busy and buzzing with companies from Europe, the US, Israel, and beyond.
We did actually exhibit at ad:tech London. This included a few long days with a busy exhibition and networking parties at night. We always enjoy ad:tech events, and this year in London was no exception. It was great, and we are already making plans for next year’s event, as well as looking forward to ad:tech New York in November.
This week our event schedule continued in Bucharest. I visited Romania to attend the Eastern European Mobile Monday Developers Summit (yes, that’s a mouthful!). It was Sponsormob’s first event in Romania, and my first time visiting the country, so it was most definitely interesting. Although the event was on the small side, there were attendees from across Eastern Europe and Israel, making for a very interesting mix.
View photos from the events on Flickr, and keep an eye out here and we will keep you posted on future events in mobile and digital marketing!
Android OpenAugust 10th, 2011 by Talya
Fall is rapidly approaching (actually, here in Berlin it seems to have already arrived!), and with it starts the busy event season. This fall we will be exhibiting at several events in Europe and in the US, and visiting a number of conferences and trade shows. A new event for us is the O’Reilly event Android Open, the first conference to cover the “entire Android app ecosystem.” Our business development manager for North America, Joe Niederberger, will be attending the event to connect with developers and other marketers working with Android apps.
The Android Open is a brand new event and combines networking opportunities with informational sessions on app development, platform development, and business and marketing. It takes place October 9-11 in San Francisco. Several industry experts are scheduled to speak, so we are looking forward to the event and meeting with others in the industry. Anyone interested in attending the event can register on the Android Open website. And if you would like to meet with us from Sponsormob during the event, please contact Joe Niederberger to arrange an appointment.
Sponsormob’s experience at DOMAINfest EuropeJune 10th, 2011 by Talya
Sponsormob’s CEO Peter Glaeser returned yesterday from DOMAINfest Europe in Barcelona, Spain. Despite bad weather and thunderstorms so rough that landing on his flight to Barcelona was delayed for over an hour, the conference itself was very good. Unfortunately the weather was not the only unscheduled disruption at the event. The domain auction, which was to be the highlight of the event, was canceled last minute because of technical issues. This was pretty upsetting for some of the attendees, many of whom had traveled to Barcelona specifically for the domain auction.
Despite the setbacks, DOMAINfest was a great event. The location – the Pullman Barcelona Skipper hotel – was excellent and despite the less-than-agreeable weather, everyone had a good time. The speaking sessions were very informative, and the networking events were great as well. We at Sponsormob would like to thank the sponsors of DOMAINfest Europe, including Oversee.net and Moniker, for the opportunity to speak and for a fun and well-organized event. We will be looking forward to future DOMAINfest events!
Peter Glaeser to speak at DOMAINfest Europe in BarcelonaMay 16th, 2011 by Talya
Peter Glaeser, co-founder and CEO of Sponsormob, has been selected as a speaker at the upcoming DOMAINfest Europe conference in Barcelona, Spain June 7-9, 2011. Peter will be one of three panelists discussing mobile, social, and affiliate revenue strategies at the event.
DOMAINfest is a conference series that brings together domain industry and internet professionals together to learn, network, and engage in business. The event is hosted in various cities around the world and is intended for both industry professionals as well as beginners. In addition to keynote and panel speaking sessions, DOMAINfest encourages networking among attendees with a variety of events, including lunches, cocktail and dinner parties, and excursions designed to give participants opportunities to connect.
The conference takes place at the Pullman Barcelona Skipper hotel. Registration fees through May 31, 2011, are $795 US and include presentations, information sessions, a domain auction, and networking events. After June 1, registration is $895. One day passes are available as well. To register, visit http://www.domainfest.com/register.
Sponsormob’s upcoming events: exhibitions and trade showsOctober 11th, 2010 by Talya
The next few months here at Sponsormob will be fairly quiet as far as external events (trade shows, exhibitions, etc.) go. Since we were recently in New York City for Affiliate Summit East and in Köln, Germany, for dmexco we don’t have any other big events planned before the end of this year.
But no worries, our break from exhibiting at trade shows won’t be all that long, and 2011 will see us out there in the public arena again. We’ll start out the year with a bang at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, at Affiliate Summit West, where we will host a meet market table on Sunday, January 9 2011.
Our next event will be ad:tech San Francisco from April 12-13. We enjoyed the ad:tech event in San Francisco last year, despite most of our people not being able to attend because of the volcano in Iceland that grounded hundreds of flights to and from Europe. (And yes, that was the actual reason for the absence of some of us, not a crafty excuse for missing work!). We are hoping that Mother Nature will cooperate a bit better in 2011 so that we can all get to ad:tech and make the most of it!
Of course, closer to these events we will remind everyone of where we will be and when. In the meantime, we can be found in our Berlin office. For anyone who plans ahead and would like to schedule a meeting for ether event, please contact us.
