Ad:tech New YorkOctober 23rd, 2012 by Talya
Ad:tech New York is coming up again very soon, and we will once again be a part of it. We had a great time at the event last year – of course, as it’s hard not to have fun in New York City! This year, our VP of Business Development, Brendhan Hight, will be heading to the Big Apple for the conference and trade show taking place the beginning of November.
Ad:tech has always been one of our most successful events, so we are happy to be making it there again this year. If you will be in New York for ad:tech and would like to meet up with Brendhan to find out more about what we can offer in terms of mobile advertising solutions, please email him to set up a time and place to meet.
See you in the city that never sleeps!

Dmexco 2012September 18th, 2012 by Talya
Dmexco, Europe’s largest digital marketing event held annually in Cologne, Germany, is now behind us. This year’s event was great, and apparently quite a few others thought so as well, as there were over 22,000 attendees. This year we exhibited at the event for the second time and very much enjoyed it, as it was a great conference and exhibition, and has truly has grown into a huge event. Dmexco was like many events for us (networking, talking, partying, working, exploring), but this year it was much larger and more international than it had been in the past, we really enjoyed it. You can see pictures and some of our impressions of Dmexco on our Flickr page, including Microsoft’s stand party in Bavarian style as well as the massive party at E-Werk, complete with go-go dancers …
Something else of interest at Dmexco this year was the publication of a new book on digital marketing called Leitfaden Digitaler Dialog (in German, obviously!) by Marketing Börse. Our Sarah Christiansen and Heiko Kasper co-authored an article in the book , discussing mobile marketing. The book was presented the first afternoon of Dmexco, and we are proud to now officially have published authors as part of our team!
TOA BerlinAugust 17th, 2012 by Talya
Next week Berlin will be hosting Tech Open Air Berlin, a gathering of startups, techies, entrepreneurs, and other creatives to connect, learn, and inspire. The founders call TOA Berlin a ‘pinch of SXSW, a pint (or more) of Berlin,’ and it is an event with the goal of inspiring community and creativity, with an emphasis on the tech scene.
The main event will be held at Kater Holzig, a very Berlin – meaning funky and a little crazy – club and event venue located in the central part of the city. Over thirty speakers will be at the two-day event, discussing everything from raising capital to marketing and advertising and more. In addition to the main event, there are also several different satellite events being held both days throughout the city, including a rooftop breakfast at Amano Hotel, a poker competition, and a startup workshop with the Berlin Startup Academy.
We are looking forward to being a part of this – and as it is ‘open air,’ we’re hoping that this week’s summer weather decides to stay on into next week as well! If you are planning to attend TOA Berlin, contact us
Date: August 23-24, 2012

GamescomJuly 6th, 2012 by Talya
The world’s largest event for interactive entertainment and games, Gamescom, is taking place again this year in Cologne, Germany, in August. And just like last year, the Sponsormob sales team will be attending this year as well. The event is huge and much more than just a conference and exhibition, as you can see on their event page, which lists the a camp, a festival, the congress, and more. Thousands of visitors come from all over the world to Cologne for Gamescom, as it is an event meant for trade visitors as well as the general public, with relatively inexpensive ticket pricing as well. Anyone working in fields related to gaming – and fans of games as well – shouldn’t miss it!
Anyone attending the event and wanting to meet with us to talk about advertising on mobile can email Heiko Kasper, Director of Business Development, to set up a meeting.

LeadsCon EastJune 26th, 2012 by Talya
Our VP of Business Development for North America, Brendhan Hight, who was recently at Internet Retailer in Chicago, will be visiting New York the end of July for LeadsCon East. We exhibited earlier this year at LeadsCon West in Las Vegas, and had a great time (and not just because we were in Sin City, we promise!).
The LeadsCon events focus on online lead generation, and in our opinion are very advertiser-focused and from our experience worth attending. The exhibition is not huge, but the visitors there are definitely there to do business, so companies interested in meeting potential clients should be there.
If you’re planning on being at LeadsCon next month and wishing to connect with someone from Sponsormob, please email Brendhan to set up a time and place to meet. See you there!

Internet Retailer, ChicagoJune 13th, 2012 by Talya
Last week our VP of Business Development for North America, Brendhan Hight, visited the Internet Retailer conference in Chicago for the first time. The organizers claim that it is the world’s largest e-commerce event, and the event apparently was in fact massive.
What was surprising about the event is that mobile didn’t play much of a role, and according to Brendhan, many of the huge retailers who were active at the event still have not made mobile a priority. Sure, it was a retail event revolving around the internet, but considering that some studies show 25% of web users in the US accessing the internet from their mobile device only, it seems that mobile would be a larger focus.
We’ll be interested to see mobile play a larger role at future events, and in the meantime, we will continue to be active players in mobile as it continues to grow as an industry.
The 21st Century Consumer is MobileMay 30th, 2012 by Talya
The upcoming Internet Retailer conference, taking place in Chicago in June, will revolve around one theme – connecting with the 21st century consumer. And in order to connect with today’s consumer, it is important for retailers to know where those consumers are and what they are doing and looking for.
So where exactly is today’s consumer? From what we have seen in the mobile advertising industry, many many many consumers are on their mobile devices. In Germany alone, where mobile phones are quite popular, 29% of the population owns a smartphone (MobilBranche). And in the United States, according to the CTIA, one third of households are completely wireless, and over 40% of the total number of mobile users have smartphones (engadget).
As there are more mobile devices than toothbrushes in today’s world, it is safe to say that a large number of today’s consumers can be found on their mobile. And just what are they doing? Well, everything. Shopping, browsing, researching, gaming, chatting, and more. And shopping is a large and growing part of mobile. In the United States last year lone, 39 million people, or 20% of mobile phone owners, made a purchase with their mobile device (econsultancy).
They say that numbers don’t lie, and these numbers show that people are on their mobiles, and many of them are making purchases. This will continue to grow, so in order to connect with today’s consumer, mobile is a direction worth heading in.
Any thoughts on where the 21st century consumer is? Please share your opinion in the comments section below.
Internet Retailer, ChicagoMay 25th, 2012 by Talya
Sponsormob will be in Chicago this summer to attend the the Internet Retailer Conference. This is another new event for us, and as we have heard only positive things about Internet Retailer events, we are looking forward to it and to experiencing it firsthand. They claim to be the world’s largest e-commerce event, and small it is not – the exhibit floor has nearly 600 companies participating, and 8,000 visitors are expected. The speakers at Internet Retailer Conference are varied, coming from the online industry, manufacturing, media, retails chains, and more. The theme of the conference will be meeting the needs of the 21st century consumer.
The conference takes place from June 5-8, 2012. If you are interested in meeting up with us at this event, please contact Brendhan Hight, our Austin-based VP of Business Development for North America. He will be at the event and would be welcome to meeting with you during the event.

Online Expo, FranceApril 18th, 2012 by Talya
June will see us visiting Paris once again to attend the Online Expo. Online Expo is a conference and exhibition for online marketing (E-commerce, M-commerce, rich media, social networking, and more). Conference topics cover all the bases as well, from building mobile campaigns to apps and the use of social media. The event takes place June 13-14 at the Porte de Versailles in Paris. The Online Expo is a new event for us, so we really don’t know what to expect, but we certainly look forward to meeting new people and connecting with new companies in the French online market.
Our Business Development Manager for France, Gauthier Peter, will be attending the exhibition and meeting with partners. Anyone interested in meeting with Gauthier to find out more about a possible partnership with Sponsormob can send him an email. See you in Paris!
